What are special types of flooring?

Special types of flooring are following:

Linoleum Flooring:

  • This flooring material is a mixture of linseed oil, gums, resins, pigments, wooden flour, cork dust and other filling materials.
  • It is available in rolls of width about 1.80 or 3.60 meters.
  • The thickness varies from 2mm to 6mm.
  • Linoleum flooring is also available in the form of tiles.
  • Linoleum should be laid over an effective damp-proof area.
  • Linoleum flooring is attractive in appearance, cheap, durable, comfortable and moderately warm and it can be easily cleaned.

It reduces noise to a considerable extent and is used for residential buildings, restaurants, railway carriage and pubic transport buses, hospitals, schools, libraries, offices, etc.

Rubber Flooring:

Rubber flooring: Rubber flooring is a popular choice today.

  • It is available in the form of tiles and sheets which are made from synthetic rubber.
  • It comes in plain, ribbed, fluted or other raised patterns.
  • It is suitable for locations where a non-conducting floor (where heat or electricity can not pass through) is required. For e.g., laboratories, amusement parks, etc.
  • This flooring material is a mixture of raw rubber, fillers such as fiber, corks, etc. and pigments.
  • A small percentage of sulphur is added to speed up the process of vulcanization (The process of making naturally soft rubber harder by reaction with sulphur).
  • The material is available in different colors in both sheet forms and tile forms.
  • It can be laid over any smooth and dry surface. :
  • This flooring material is elastic, attractive, noiseless, sanitary, comparatively warm and soft, but it is affected by oil and grease.
  • This flooring material is used for bathrooms, hospitals, X-ray rooms, etc.
  • This flooring is used for auditoriums, dance halls, gymnasium floors, etc.
  • The thickness of wooden blocks does not exceed 10 mm.
  • The blocks are laid in desired patterns and they are fixed by means of hot glue. Then they are nailed with the help of panel pins. The heads of these pins are punched off and putty is filled in the holes.

False Flooring:

False Flooring is normally used in computer rooms for routing cables under the floor

Specifications of false flooring:

  • P/F false flooring with 115mm diameter pressure die-cast alloy base with 25mm diameter M.S. rod of 200mm length.
  • The top portion of the rod shall be threaded and will have one nut and one check-nut for positive locking.
  • The jacks head shall also be of pressure die-cast.
  • The entire M.S.channel framing and M.S. rod shall be electro galvanized.
  • The floor panel shall be made of 35mm thick Novateak Super particle board, 2mm thick PVC tiles on top surface, the underside shall be coated with fire resistant paint. The edges of the floor panel shall have exposed PVC edging.
  • The entire floor shall be capable to take uniformly distributed load of 1,200 kg. per sq/m. and a safe point load of 400 kg. at the center of panel with a maximum deflection of 2mm.

PVC Flooring or Vinyl flooring:

  • Waterproof: It is waterproof and easy to clean; vinyl flooring is very hard wearing.
  • Durable: It has properties of high wear resistance and hardiness. It is unbreakable and flexible
  • Easily replaceable: If you use vinyl-flooring tiles instead of sheet, you can easily replace any section of your flooring that gets damaged.
  • Various finishes: Vinyl flooring also comes in a huge variety of finishes these days, including slip resistant vinyl flooring which is ideal for areas the public often walks on.
  • Bacteria resistant: Yet another benefit of vinyl flooring is that it is resistant to the growth of bacteria.
  • Resistance to Chemicals: The surface of Vinyl flooring offers resistance to attack from soft and diluted acids, alkali, petrol, soaps and detergents. However, any chemical spilled on the surface should be cleaned immediately to minimize any possible damage.
  • Sizes Normally Available are: Width- 1.5 meter in rolls and continuous length up to 20 meter.Thickness- 2mm and 1.5mm having many selected shades.

A professional angle broom is basically a flat broom that is cut with an
angle giving the user some ease in sweeping, especially in cleaning
hard to reach edges. Brooms are mainly used in dust cleaning on floor
and walls. If you are thinking angle brooms may not be suitable for your
floor type, you don't have to worry at all since this works on all
types of floors. Below are the common floor types and some tips on good
cleaning. automotive locksmith

A lock is designed to keep crime out, but sometimes these devices
actually lure criminals inside. It has happened to just about everyone
that they locked themselves out of their car, home or workplace and not
everyone carries a set of spare keys so then the only way out is to call
a locksmith, who will come and unlock the doors for a certain fee. All
of this is simple enough, the problem occurs when the locksmith is a
phony one.

Before proceeding to explore the sort of training that one needs in
order to become a forensic locksmith, it would be essential for us to
have a brief overview on whom the forensic locksmith is, and what he is
involved in on a day to day basis. This we would be doing out of
appreciation for the fact that many people are unfamiliar with these
professionals, and it wouldn't be altogether far-fetched to speculate
that some of us may be encountering the term 'forensic locksmith' for
the very first time in this discussion.

Dear John
   See more about Vinyl flooring

Vinyl
flooring is generally used to ornament floor in residential and non
residential buildings.  Vinyl flooring is laminated, solid resilient,
unbreakable and flexible having non porous surface. This flooring is
resistant to mild or diluted acids, alkalis, soaps, detergents and
petrol. It is high wear resistant and can be cleaned easily with wet
cloth. If it is cleaned immediately, concentrated acids and alkalis have
no effect on the surface of floor. Do not throw burning cigarette butts
or match sticks on floors. To avoid scratches on the surface of floor,
do not drag any heavy object or furniture on floor.

Constituents of Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring consists
of thermoplastic binder, filler and pigments. The thermoplastic binder
should consist substantially of one or both of

• Vinyl chloride polymer
• Vinyl chloride copolymer

Vinyl flooring material should confirm to IS Number (IS: 3462).This
floor material is available in various thicknesses i.e. 1.5 mm, 2 mm,
2.5 mm, 3mm and 4 mm. It is available in shape of tiles or roles having a
length from one meter to ten meters.

Adhesive for Vinyl Flooring

Rubber based adhesives are used to fix PVC flooring over concrete,
wooden and metal sub base flooring. PVA based adhesives should be used
for concrete and wooden sub floors but they are not good for metal base
and on damp floors.

How to prepare sub base for vinyl flooring?

Step 1: Prepare hard, dry and damp proof base

Sub
base should be hard, dry and damp proof. If vinyl flooring is laid on
damp base, moisture slowly damages adhesive resulting in separation and
curling of PVC sheet from the base. Vinyl flooring can be laid on any
sub base such as concrete floor, wooden floor.

Step 2: Lay damp proof base concrete in two layers

At
ground floor, the base concrete should be laid in two layers with damp
proof layer including damp proofing on walls at least up to 6 inches
from floor level. In case of new work, it should be left for at least
one month for drying.

How to install vinyl flooring?

Step 1: Clean sub base of all dust

Sub
base for vinyl flooring should be cleaned of dust. It should be dry.
The surface of sub base should be free from grease and grit.

Step 2: Set the temperature between 20 to 30 degrees centigrade

Before you lay flooring, materials should be stored at room temperature at for 24 hours.
During
installation the temperature should neither fall below 20 degree
centigrade nor shall exceed 30 degree centigrade and at least for 48
hours.

Step 3:  Use adhesives on sub base for proper fixing

Vinyl
flooring should be first laid for trial without using adhesive
according to required layout. Then the adhesive should be applied on sub
base and backside of PVC sheet for proper fixing. Usually after half an
hour when adhesive is sticky to touch, the PVC sheet should be pressed
on the sub base.  Then the sheet should be pressed using a roller
weighing about 5 kg to develop proper bond with sub floor.

Step 4:  Do installation in dry conditions

Make
sure that there is no air between the sheet and back ground surface.
Avoid floor installation under high humidity conditions.

Step 5: Check alignment and clean top surface

After
laying each row the alignment should be checked. Also make sure that
there are minimum joints between two rolls/tiles. After completing the
work, the top surface should be cleaned thoroughly by using wet cloth
and solvent.

Note : After installations, do not use flooring at
least for 24 hours. Metallic edge strips should be used to protect edges
of flooring.

Benefits of blended vinyl flooring

  • Versatility
  • High durability
  • Low maintenance
  • Easy to install and clean
  • No need to hire a professional for installation

Drawback of blended vinyl flooring

It can be cut, scratched, burnt and bent easily.

Vinyl Flooring Vinyl flooring is the second most popular type of flooring in the United States after carpet. There are many reasons for this including the fact that vinyl flooring is inexpensive, durable and comes in a wide variety of style and designs. Vinyl flooring can replicate many different types of flooring. Though sheets and tile styles are the most popular, vinyl is also available in designs that imitate hardwood, bamboo, and stone. Vinyl flooring is recyclable, creating minimal waste in landfills. Vinyl flooring works great in moist areas including rooms that get a lot of moisture and tropical climates. Vinyl is easy to clean and maintain. Vinyl flooring is created from a special type of plastic called polyvinyl chloride or PVC. Vinyl is a “resilient” type of flooring because of its flexibility and ability to bounce back upon impact. This quality makes vinyl floors more comfortable to walk or stand on than other types of flooring. You can buy custom essay writing service for usa writers for getting better support.
