please inform what material to use for kitchen ceiling ,so that it can be cleaned easily when it becomes oily or dirty.

Richa Shangvi Interior decorator Join date: Jun 2010	Post subject: You should install I think you should install chimney and exhaust fan in the kitchen first so that your kitchen would be kept oil free. Oil can only be removed withe some type of cleansing material. But you cannot use it on the lights. You can only clean the light with dry cloth. So please get the chimney installed in your kitchen. It is very essential if you frequently cook oily food.

modernplasticsco Join date: Nov 2009	Post subject: kitchen ceiling use PVC foam sheets its a ideal substitute of ply wood but can be washed with water/ soapy water also. NO colour required if you like white or you can paint any of your choice.NO TERMITES And no maintenance. I have used the same in my kitchen ceiling. Its self extinguishing also ( less fire problem ) easy available if you have any problem contact me.

arisyap Join date: Jul 2010	Exhaust fan is really important to the kitchen. It will clear the smell and the smoke which will cause the dirt on your ceiling. Check this price comparison shopping site. They have exhaust fans as well as different home lighting and light fixtures. You can choose from different brand and stores.

Ar. Manoj Ralen Join date: Feb 2008	False ceiling as such does not pose a problem in kitchen. You may want to avoid coves in the kitchen as they are harder to maintain and dust accumulates in them over time. But a plus minus design in ceiling would give you a lot of design options.
