|  Topic: Overhead water tank - above head room roof
Overhead water tank-Initially we advised him to construct it above the head room by providing a pillar for 3 feet high. But, my contractor constructed the overhead water tank on the
roof of the head room.
The justification he is providing to us is that he made the
thickness of the roof to 7” and provided double mat (two layer of slab) RCC
roof. Also, Dr. Fixit (water leak) solution was applied while casting the roof.
Kindly advise whether the method what he is telling is good
or the roof will absorb water, moisture. As the construction is going on we can correct it right now.

It is better if there is a gap between roof slab and overhead water tank slab. What ever caution to be taken but moisture destroy the MS steel bars as they are rusted due to moisture.
