Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Murgan Tile terracing is a system of waterproofing on roof and brief description is as under 1. Clean the top surface of roof with wire brush and broom. 2. Apply bitumen on roof i.e. bitumen painting on roof surface @ of 1.7 kg per sqm. 3. There are two ways that a. Stick the polythene sheet on bitumen surface OR b. The other option is directly lay the polythene sheet on the clean roof. 4. Apply mud mixed with bhusa 1'' thick on the polythene sheet. 5 Lay earth on the mud laid on roof by giving proper slope to drain rain water. 6. After that lay brick tiles/ clay tiles with mud on the rammed earth. 7. After laying the tiles the joints are grouted with cement mortar 1;3. 8. Clean the roof and tiles should be cement pointed.

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Panchal Yes, You can use ceramic tiles instead of brick tiles. These are costly and need much care as if use in rough manner can be damaged. Also take care when tiles surface is wet as it is some what slippery.
