 Topic: Estimation of quantities of raw materials for sungle to 4 storyed Buildings
CBRI Roorkee in the year 1972 , April had published a Bulletin which helps to estimate fairly accurate quantum of various raw materials  required in construction of buildings with single to 4 storyed house and plinth areas  upto 100 sq m. CBRI had considered the actual Bill of Quantities procured from  builders then.

I f any thumb rule or empirical formula is there to estimate such quantities for multi storyed apartments it shall be very helpful for me in calculating environmental impacts for ever growing  demand for  housing projects.

Requested for help from experts.

          There are many books or material for detail of quantity of construction items, these also printed in states PWD OR CPWD SHEDULE OF RATES.Some are as under
1. c.conc.1:8:16 for 1cum= cement= 1.8 bags, sand .5 cum, brick or stone ballast= 1cum
Brick work 1:7 ratio for 1cum= cement=1bag, sand .25 cum, bricks= 480 nos.
