Buying wooden furniture

Hello. There exists a lot of choices in wood for buying/making furnitures. This is very much complicated due to sellers cheating the buyer. Lots of wrong kinds of wood and polished and painted to disguise the wrong wood and for cheating the customer. I am looking for good wooden furnitures for my house but I am not sure what/which wooden make should the furniture be?

There are rose-woods, teak, jungle-wood, sal, etc. I know of superficial difference between hard-wood and compressed wood. Hence I am not considering compressed wood like MDF/ply wood etc.

Somebody please guide which is the optimal type of wooden furniture that one can buy for home? I have heard of many different subtypes among teak, honne, rose wood etc. I am not looking to spend exhorbitantly for furnitures at the same time, I am looking for good quality hard woods that is comfortable and lasts long without problems due to water, termites, season changes etc.

I dislike leather, rexin made furnitures. The wooden furnitures are preferable. Please guide me how to differentiate and identify the wood type, make etc. Any recommendations for furniture dealers in Bangalore?
