Topic: My existing house is a load bearing structure that is on brick walls of 14" size

My existing house is a load bearing structure that is on brick walls of 14" size.the area of the house is (22'x22') in east west direction.at the middle there is wall seperating the area in to two parts the wall itself is also load bearig.Recently I have extended my house to the same size of existing one with a frame structure.I laid 6 pillars and beams properly and I made a joint with the existing Rcc slab which is on the wall With the new Rcc slab on frame structure( the span is 22'North -sotuth).The 10mm bars are welded with over lapping nearly 7" The 3 pillars laid near at 9" to the existing wall. At the slab joint a Conceal beam is provided Using 12mm bars.Beam on the middle pillar is well extended to back beneath the old slab giving support in east west diction .I hope the load is transferred to the new slab which is pillars and 1' beam just near the wall At about 9". Now can I remove the old load bearing wall at the joint or shall I have to take any precautionary measures.Kindly suggest meMore over I costructed 1st floor on whole structure (old and new) I took care that no wall is constructed On top the Joint in the First floor

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Bhaskar From your given contents If correct I under stand that you want to remove the wall between new portion and old portion after laying beam. If you give plan than it can be under stand easily for giving any comment. Secondly what is beam length to bear the load laid with 12mm steel. In my opinion it is better if you consult any civil/ structural engineer of your city, who can give better advice after visiting the house site.
