Sir,
yes North-East side is good for sump. and North - West is also acceptable for staircase.
But id still you have any doubt please consult with a vastu expert.

Join date: Sep 2014 | Hi Sarojini, For East face house you can go for East of South-East staircase[as a second alternate]. As per vastu staircase should not be at NE and also North [because it is considered as weight / covered structure]. But you can provide staircase at North of North-West. In the given condition[width] it is part of North. If possible try to adjust[dimension / design of Stairs] to words NorthWest.

Hello Sarojini.
If I understand this discussion correctly ,Here you are discussing about the entry to secondary Vastu (Bhavana), that is your House/Banglow. It would be of great help if you can share the plan of the house and your proposal about the stair case. Apart from Vastu there has to be a practical approach for this stair case too.
For entry into a vastu (Land) there are different parameters and for entry into Bhavana (House) there are different parameters. Hence the plan would definitely help.
