|  Topic: beam load
My contractor is laying a beam of (9"×16.5") , one side it is supported by by a column but on the other side it is resting on a wall of 4.5", though above wall there is a beam 4.5". The span of beam is 15fts, is it safe to lay(inserted) beam on that 4.5"inch beam. There is no space for 9inch wall or beam . Any suggestions to make it strong? |
