Join date: Nov 2015 | Sir, I see a lot of houses with bedroom/living room sizes 12ftx13ft,13ftx14ft etc. without any visible beams. In my present house plan the bedroom size is 12ftx13ft but engineer is suggesting more steel rods through the centre within same 4" thickness ie. Not visible beam. Is it right? | |

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Jadav, You can lay consolidate beam on 14' side, the size of beam is 18''x7''. 7'' thickness of beam portion 5'' will be in RCC roof and remaining 2'' up side will be covered in concrete below flooring. use 8 nos MS Steel bars of 20 mm dia 4nos on top and 4 nos on bottom with 8mm dia ring 4'' center to center.
