The thickness of slab and MS Steel arrangement is according to design based on span and loading condition. However in general the thickness of RCC slab should be 4.5'' thick.
MS Steel for slab for main bar should be 10mm and for distribution 8mm or 10 mm. For beam it should be 16mm and 12 mm as per span.

Join date: May 2014 | The thickness has to be at least 4.5-5.0". Use 10/12 mm for lantel area and 16 mm for invisible beams.

use cement concrete mix 1;1.5;3 in ALL RCC WORK. It is safer keeping in view earth quack safety.
