Topic: Whether 6 x 8mm TMT bars are enough for rcc belt over rubble foundation for 2 story house?

My contractor suggested 6 numbers of  8mm TMT bars and 6mm TMT for tie boxes for rcc belt of width 1 feet and thickness 6 inch over the rubble foundation for load bearing walls. So, is it enough or should I go for 10mm/12mm TMT bars?

Before suggesting a solution, may I know if you have an architect or a structural consultant working for you ?

If there is a structural consultant please do follow his suggestion.
Else, I would advise you to err on the side of caution and go for the next higher dia since these are the loading bearing walls.
