| Post subject: wall extension without cantilever beam|
I have a query. When the ground floor of our house was constructed , the constructor didn’t make any cantilever beam however there was extra roof space/slab of 1.5–2 feet was left on all the 4 sides. So now we want to extent the first floor so that it uses this leftover space. Can I extend the wall even if there was no cantilever beam present to bear that load ? how much extension does not require a cantilever beam ? Can cantilever beam can be made after the construction of the roof?

In my opinion it is better to consult any structural engineer of your town or city, who can advice you better after visiting the home site and give instruction according to site condition.

Yes you can build 2nd floor without wall but connection with roof beam. But as I would see Essay Lounge it is smarter to counsel any auxiliary architect of your town or city, who would be able to advice you better in the wake of going to the home site and give a guideline as per site condition.
