Can I build 2 nd floor on my house

 Topic: Can I build 2 nd floor on my house
Hi All,

I bought a house which is already built.

The house consists of 12 pillars and each pillar is of size 16 X 9".

Each pillar contains four 16 mm rods and two 12mm rods.

The super build up area is 1200 sqft (approximately) and the site size is 1740 sqft.


I am planning to build FIRST and SECOND FLOORS now.

Now my question is , does my ground pillars support the load which comes from the SECOND FLOOR?

or Shall I build only FIRST FLOOR?

I dont have much information on pillars foundation, without knowing pillars foundation details how could I build 2nd floor?

            In my view it is better if you consult any civil or structural engineer for your problem who can better guide you after visiting your house and see the loading condition of column/ pillars.

Join date: May 2014		Keep the internal walls as it is on ground floor. Do not change much and go ahead. If you want you can check with the architect with the existing ground floor drawings.
