 Topic: sir i have recently consstructed a house using fly ash based cement for ground f
sir i have recently consstructed a house using fly ash based cement for ground floor and portland cement for another floor but the walls seem not to be of the standard strength despite ample curing with water for 7 days .I have seen that while rubbing the walls with hand the oncrete falls down like dust . is it a normal porcess or i need to do some thing

Join date: May 2015		The fly ash cement is good cement and your problem not related to fly ash or Portland cement used.
If you found the mortar not take strength after seven days many reasons behind it
1- If cement old than 3 month its life expired and if old than 1 month reduce life
2- if mortar used after 3 hours of mixing the water the setting of cement started in case of fly ash and in case of Portland it is 30 minutes.
3- You mix excess sand and less cement in mortar
4- If climate is much cold or much hot but i feel it is not your case

Join date: Aug 2012		may be it is not cement, which is falling down like dust. it may be salt of water. have you used hard water during construction. salty or hard water create a layer (like pathces) of powder on the wall surface.
