knowledgeable article.But there are many other reasons of dampness e.g the level of flooring may have been higher than that of DPC.A joint between two common walls may not be properly filled.There occurs condensation around the rain water pipe due to difference between the atmospheric temperature and that of rain water pipe.

No this was not helpful as my specific question, if pipes can be inserted into exterior walls, will eliminate damp, into an older established Turkish property.
