Advantage/disadvantage of Gypsum plastering and procedure to apply

 Topic: Advantage/disadvantage of Gypsum plastering and procedure to apply
Hi,

We have seen in our apartment that the builders use gypsum paste for finishing of internal wall plastering and it's done in the following method:
1. Plastering of the RCC wall with cement+sand+mortar dust mixture.
2. Applying a Gypsum coat over it immediately after plastering has finished i.e. on the same day.

My question is :
1. Is the above method proper or there are any guideline for Gypsum plaster finishing?.
2. Will the Gypsum coat affect curing of internal cement+sand plastering as both have been done at the same time.

Join date: May 2014		Should be applied when the plaster is 100% dry.

Thanks for the information.
Does it mean in general that approximately after 24 hrs of plastering?
And how it affects the curing time i.e. do we have to put water more frequently for curing for more days?

Join date: May 2014		At least after 7-10 days of plaster with proper curing.
