|  Topic: Rain Water leakage thru electrical conduit in RCC roof
dear sir, madem
there is a leakage in electrical conduit (pipe for wiring) in RCC roof. water drops come into fan and light fixtures. sometimes short circuit occurs also. what precaution to take at time of making RCC roof and conduits.

One possible reason is that concrete did not flow around the conduit causing a honey-comb through which water has started leaking.
Conduit should have a minimum cover of 50 mm and its diameter should not exceed 1/3 of slab thickness.

For The Leakage through Electrical points and conduits kindly check the storage of rain water on terrace, if slope of terrace is proper , check rain water outlets..and clean. also check the joints of RCC slab and brick wall,where Electrical bands are provided...Please Insure Good quality of Elect.Conduit fittings J-box,fan box ,bands etc.with Good workmanship...... | | |
