Topic: TORSION REINFORCEMENT

I KNOW TORSION REINFOCEMENT IS PROVIED AT CORNER OF A BIG ROOM BUT I DONT KNOW THE POSITION OF THAT REINFORCEMENT IN BEAM? SO EXPLAIN THE POSITION OF TORSION REINFORCEMENT IN SLAB BARS? IT IS FIXED AT MIDDLE OF BEAM OR AT UPPER END OR LOWER END?

IF IT IS POSIBLE TO GIVE A FIGURE OR PHOTOS.....SO PLEASE GIVE THAT.

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Mada In my view the torsion steel is at L/4 or L/5. It is better if you have proper structural design form civil engineer of your drawing.

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Mada The torsion bars are fixed on the both ends at top of simply supported beam. In case continuous beam these bars are placed at the end and on the middle supports at top of beam.
