Which is the best protection coating/paint to be used inside and outside of wooden door frames for termite as well as general protection during home construction phase? I want to polish the door frames aftet construction as final.

vinu Join date: Oct 2015	I think paint is not good choice since I want polish as final finish. More worried about the suitable coating for out side of door frames, ie. In between brick and door frame, since it can't be changed or re-painted later..

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Vinu, The back of wooden chowket the portion adjoining with masonry should be painted with two coat creosote, coal tar or any other wood preservative mixed with anti termite solution available in the market. the other 3 faces should be applied with priming coat. For protection against water and splashing of cement mortar wood or plastic or polythene strips should be lightly nailed temporary on chowket face.
