 Topic: Is home made concrete bricks safe?
I'm in search for good quality concrete bricks for the load bearing walls of my two storey house. 

The brick manufacturing units in our local market produce bricks using big hydraulic press and concrete mixers where we are not sure about the quality/quantity of raw materials used, and also no written guarantee on quality or other strength specifications.  
 
Some contractors bring small hand operated brick making machine to our site and we have to supply the raw materials.

So, I prefer second option, but also would like to know the quality difference in using big hydraulic press and small hand operated press for making concrete bricks. Does more compression makes the bricks more strong?

            For this problem you should Take 3to4 sample bricks from both the sources of supply and get tested for compressive strength and result give about the best.
