Basement and stilt parking.

 Topic: Basement and stilt parking.
Please help me in getting the adv and dis adv of Basement and stilt parking. Although both are covered.Which one is good for Owners. I am more inclined towards the Stilt because basement may face of water clogging, dampness and leakages in the basement. Any other views please share

Join date: Feb 2012		In General people will go for basement if it is really need, due to space requirement for
parking and other service utility, If you can accommodate the parking at stilt floor then there is no need for basement, and more ever the proper construction of basement will cost you
more than 3 times of your stilt floor cost, because you have to go for RCC walls and RCC floor of min 9" to 12" depends upon the water pressure, and water proofing cost etc.

           It is up to you, what you like. But in my view if basement construction is allowed by local authority than go for basement construction.The rates of land is very high and if locality is in posh area than cost land is very very high than extra expenditure on basement is have no meaning against the land value.
