 Topic: SIze of Footing in black soil
Dear sir,
 what should be the size of footing mesh for colum in a house. I am writing details here :-

1). black cotton soil below ground, up to 15 feet below.
2). spacing of column is 12 feet. total columns are 16.
3). plot size is 30ft x 50ft
4). total two floors, ground and first floor only. no basement.

     First of all for design take the bearing capacity of soil and take design from structural engineer.
In general case the footing size should be 8'x8'.
