Suction pipe lengh of the sump motor

 Topic: Suction pipe lengh of the sump motor

How much is the distance of Head of suction of a sump motor

which is of 1 HP ? I have been told by texmo dealers that 1HP motor will serve though mine motor point is 25 feet away from the sump .Suguna dealers mentioned it won;t work. could anybody help on this?

Hi: Generally 1HP centrifugal pumps (single stage) can manage more than 25 feet very easily, however, the suction head should remain close to 20 feet and the rest height should be made as delivery head. In specialized requirements such as agriculture, wells and sewage; ejecto pumps (jet pumps) are used. They are capableof lifting water upto100ft deep.

Install the suction pipe in a vertical position and not slanting.
