Dear Mohan,

9” thick brick walls may serve the purpose of load bearing walls. It is better if you take structural advice from any structural engineer by sending plan of the house and nature of the soil. Structural engineer would supply the detail of foundation according to load coming on the wall, which is most important in case of load bearing walls and also give the position of beam and RCC bed plate etc. This service (in paid) is also available with experts at GharExpert.com
